This is an order for Custom Japanese Scroll.

Our Japanese Scrolls (kakemono) are really special and we are very proud of them. We have worked with our scroll maker in Nara, Japan for more than a decade and are the only ones in the United States using these special scrolls.

The scrolls have silk borders and the materials are layered so that when displayed the scroll hangs straight and will not warp over time. This is very important. And the paper takes the ink just right so subtle brush strokes come out just as expected. These quality scrolls are meant to last generations.

We take you through each step of the process including options for translation, fonts, and the layout. We email you samples that we can discuss and modify as needed. You have complete input into each step. And the process does not finish until you are completely happy with the design.

This normally takes 2-3 design sets. Some customers like to take more time to make decisions and this is perfectly fine. Our responses are normally within one business day.

Once the final design is decided, the final scroll is shipped within 1-3 business days. The scroll arrives ready to display.

With a custom Japanese scroll calligraphy design from Takase Studios, your imagination is the limit. Work directly with Master Japanese Calligrapher Eri Takase and create a unique work of art to hang on your wall that will last a lifetime and beyond.
Custom wall scroll designs may range from single words to full phrases, including Zen phrases, bible passages, quotes, and much more.
When your custom order is placed online, you will then be working directly with Master Japanese Calligrapher Eri Takase to create a unique work of art that is tailored to you and your personal taste.
An interactive process is used where we work with you on the translation, font, and layout by showing you preliminary samples via email that are then discussed and changed as needed. These preliminary samples will not be computer fonts, but rather are hand-lettered designs created by Master Calligrapher Eri Takase to your specification.
Takase Studios has both native-English and native-Japanese speaking translators working right alongside Master Takase, so you know the translation will be absolutely correct. Furthermore, we provide you with dictionary references and work with you until you are completely satisfied with the design.
By working together, we create a unique piece of Japanese scroll art using a process that is both fun and informative. What is even better is most work can be completed in as little as a few days.
