Japanese Scrolls (kakemono)

Our Japanese Scrolls (kakemono) are really special and we are very proud of them. A kakemono, also called kakejiku, is a hanging scroll, made to hang in the tokonoma, the alcove of a traditional Japanese room, and in the tea room. We have worked with our scroll maker in Gifu, Japan for two decades and are the only ones in the United States using these special scrolls.

The scrolls have woven Japanese damask borders and the materials are layered so that when displayed the scroll hangs straight. This is very important. And the paper takes the ink just right so subtle brush strokes come out just as expected. These quality scrolls are designed to last generations.

Each scroll is $220; shipping is calculated at checkout from your address.
